What it's made of and why it matters
These containers are injection-molded polypropylene (PP), a thermoplastic that becomes the plastic #5 resin code. Polypropylene is chemically inert at room temperature and does not leach BPA, BPS, or phthalates under normal use. The divided compartments and snap lids are also PP. Unlike polycarbonate or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), PP does not require plasticizers that pose migration risk, making it one of the safer food-contact plastics for cold and moderately warm storage.
