About PFAS Database

PFAS Database exists to answer one question fast: is this product likely to contain forever chemicals, and if so, what should I buy instead? We grade tens of thousands of everyday products A to F using one public rubric, and when a product fails, we point you at the safest swap in its category.

How the grades are made

Every product runs through the same additive scoring rubric: materials and coatings, the brand’s own PFAS disclosure, third-party certifications, published lab findings, and government recalls. The full factor table with every weight is public on the methodology page. Grades are model-based estimates built from public information, not laboratory certifications, and every scorecard says what we don’t know alongside what we do.

How the site makes money

Some outbound links are affiliate links; if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Two hard rules keep that honest: money never touches a grade, and we never place a buy link on a product we grade D or F. The failing product gets a safe swap instead.

Press and citations

Our data studies are computed directly from the grading database and are free to cite with attribution and a link. For data questions or custom cuts of the dataset, email alerts@pfasdatabase.com.

Corrections

Formulations change and models make mistakes. If a grade looks wrong, report it and it enters our review queue.
