GORE-TEX's ePTFE membrane is a Teflon-family coating, a synthetic PFAS-containing material, and the fabric typically receives PFC-based water-repellent coating (water-repellent coating) finish. GORE-TEX does not claim PFAS-free status and does not disclose specific water-repellent coating chemistry on consumer labels.
