Lower PFAS concern; carbon & mineral filters are traditionally PFAS-free, but Berkey's silence on sourcing and testing leaves modest uncertainty.

Berkey shower filters use activated carbon and/or mineral media (KDF-55), which are not inherently PFAS-bearing materials. However, Berkey does not publicly disclose PFAS test results or sourcing details for these filtration media. No third-party PFAS testing of this product is widely documented.
